Throughout the day, when we experience stress, our bodies automatically react in ways that prepare for what is known as fight or flight. If we are continually agitated and stressed with life it can cause physical damage to our bodies.

Sitting for each day with our eyes closed can affect the body in opposite ways to how stress does, restoring the body to a calm state, helping it to repair itself, and preventing new damage due to the physical effects of stress.
